On Gay Travelocity, we’ve just rolled out our European travel packages (sounds sexy, right?). One international destination that should be on every gay traveler’s agenda is London. Put aside the cute Buckingham guards in those cheeky fur hats that would make Galliano green with envy, London is home to the largest gay community in Europe and its vibrant culture reflects it (who do you think was designing those fabulous dresses for Queen Elizabeth back in the day?).
Get all the touristy stuff done on the first day and save the rest for real exploration: the unparalleled shopping from Saville Row with timeless tailoring to the fast-fashion shops of High Street, there’s no shortage of ways to drop major Pounds in this city. If you love antiques, the Portobello Road Market is one of the best in the world for finding fancy treasures to haul back to the US.
And even though Estelle might extol the virtues of an “American Boy,” we’ve always had something for guys with British accents.
Hello there, chaps! It’s the Travelocity Roaming Gnome here. Just wanted to pop in and give you all a cheeky wink.
I’m thinking of taking a little trip to GayWhistler’s WinterPRIDE 2010, which is happening March 1 through March 8. Will I see any of you there? I’m looking forward to the WHOOSSH Martini Party, the Shred Betties Bash, and particularly the WinterPRIDE Oscars party on Saturday night. Anyone got a tux I can borrow? Or a date that looks like George Clooney?
Hope to see you at WinterPRIDE 2010! I’ll be the one in the pointy red hat. You can pinch my cheeks if you like. I mean the ones on my face.
Toodles!

Chalk it up to the black ice still lining the sidewalks in New York, but we’ve been longing for a long getaway to L.A. There’s always been that East Cost/West Cost rivalry, but these days we find it hard to argue against consistently sunny weather, pleasant outdoor cafés and West Hollywood.
New Yorkers might have Chelsea and the summer weekend on Fire Island, but in Los Angeles, you have summer all year long (more or less) and the gay mainstay: The Abbey. The Abbey is the mecca of the gay world and a pilgrimage should be made—at very least—once in your life. LOGO TV called it “The best gay bar in the world” and every time you pass it, there’s bound to be a flood of well-toned and well-tanned people filling its space courtyard. Sounds pretty good right about now, doesn’t it? Where do you lay your allegiance? Do you have East Coast envy or pine for the Pacific?
